Trailer - I chose a trailer as I already had various ideas about how to construct the text and the overall tone and feel of the video. I am certain that I will film in/around London and the style in which i want to shoot, enabling the planning and researching process to be more focused and specific. I believe that by choosing a trailer in this genre that i will be able to do more, and will not be as limited as if doing a music video.
Music Video - Had i chosen to do a music video i would have most likely used a mixture of a story based plot and a band actually physically playing the song. However, i am unsure on the specifics of how i would have constructed this. Also, i chose not to choose a music video as it will be harder to find the resources, such as a band etc. If doing a music video it will be a lot harder as when editing i would have to perfectly synchronise the sound. Although this would be possible, and although it would be hard i am confident that i could manage.
Advert - Had i chosen an advert i would have possibly chosen to advertise food or a sporting clothing range. This did not appeal to me and i think that by choosing a trailer that i while expand my knowledge further and also practical skills. Also, if doing a food advert, I would prefer to shoot an advert similar to that of the M&S advert seen below, however I would need a Macro Lens to do this as professionally, which i do not have.
